Fertilizer

Our fertilizer is a uniquely formulated, slow release, professional turf product made in Canada. We start with a granular fertilizer that is dissolved into a powder formulation. Our spray application technique ensures an even and accurate feed of your lawn. This dries to a "baby powder" consistency.

Broadleaf Weeds

The term "broadleaf weeds" refers to a wide variety of common lawn weeds with broad leaves. (Dandelions, thistles, clover etc...)

Treatment

We use "Killex", a top quality name brand herbicide. Killex does not vaporize into the air during or after application. Although you may sometimes smell a slight odour immediately following application, this does not come from the herbicide component, and is perfectly harmless. Killex is biodegradable and does not leach into subsoil.

Crabgrass

Crabgrass is a thick, coarse grass that typically grows in high sun areas of the lawn. The plant grows outward, along the surface of the ground and chokes out healthy turf. Near the end of the summer, the grass turns a deep purple colour, and become quite unsightly.

Treatment

For crabgrass control, we use "Dimension" turf herbicide. This works both before and after crabgrass appears. Dimension does not leach through soil, nor will it harm nearby plants, shrubs or trees.

White Grubs

One of the worst pest insects in Ontario, these small, white, C-shaped worms are the larvae of European Chafer beetles. They damage to the turf by chewing the grass roots. In minor cases, this causes a slight browning of the grass. In severe cases, however, grubs have been known to completely kill an entire lawn in one growing season.

In addition to the damage these insects cause by chewing the roots, additional turf damage is often caused by small animals such as raccoons, skunks and squirrels digging up the turf to eat the worms.

Treatment

The biggest insect problem today is white grubs. To effectively control these turf eating pests that live in the soil, we use "MERIT" insecticide. MERIT is an extremely effective product that offers a superior level of safety for humans and wildlife.

Chinch Bugs

Chinch bugs are a very tiny insect that sucks the juice out of grass blades, causing them to dry out and turn yellow. Chinch bug infestations occur mainly in the summer months, when the temperature is high.

Treatment

For surface feeding insects, we use SevinŽ which is suitable for virtually any outdoor insect problem. SevinŽ has been widely tested. With over 10,000 toxicology studies conducted to date, you are assured of a safe product with a proven environmental safety record. Professionals have trusted SevinŽ for more than 30 years.

To ensure the safety of your family and pets, it's a good rule of thumb to stay off the area until it is thoroughly dry. Depending on weather, this generally takes 2 to 4 hours.
