Crabgrass is a thick, coarse grass that typically grows in high sun areas of the lawn. The plant grows outward, along the surface of the ground and chokes out healthy turf. Near the end of the summer, the grass turns a deep purple colour, and become quite unsightly. Treatment 100% Natural Corn Gluten is applied early in the season as a weed and crabgrass suppressant. Studies have shown corn gluten to have some effect in inhibiting root formation at the time of germination in both broadleaf weeds and crabgrass. In addition we have hired and trained a team of students for manual weed removal. Each time our technician visits your lawn throughout the summer, they are accompanied by a “Frechette Student Weed Puller”. These students are equipped with a “weed hog” manual weed puller. Not only do we manually remove the weeds we also take them with us for environmentally freidnly disposal. Due to the Ontario Provincial pesticide ban, we can n longer guarantee a weed free lawn. Maintaining a thick and healthy lawn will prevent weeds. |

One of the
worst pest insects in In addition to the damage these insects cause by chewing the roots, additional turf damage is often caused by small animals such as raccoons, skunks and squirrels digging up the turf to eat the worms. Treatment Nemotodes are natural, earth friendly microscopic worms. They are ideally suited to combat pests that attack plants in areas such as root zones. When applied they will hunt, penetrate and kill grub in the lawn. University research shows the effectiveness of these organisms in controlling grub. Scientific evidence indicates they are safe to people, pets, earthworms, plants and the environment. |
